Questions and Concerns

If you have a question about Lexington City Schools, the best sources of information are the principals and teachers who are involved in the school on a daily basis. If you need information beyond the school level the system's staff members can assist you.

Volunteer in Our Schools

Volunteers are important to the success of the Lexington City School District, and we appreciate their service to our schools. In order to keep our children safe, all volunteers who wish to serve in our schools must have a current Background Report on file. 

Please contact the principal(s) at the school(s) where you want to volunteer and you will be given a Volunteer Approval Form to complete.

Driver's Education

October 23 - November 8, 2023   (Note: No class on October 31, 2023)
Time: Monday - Friday 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm (Note: No Friday Classes)
Location: VIRTUAL

Must attend Lexington City Schools, a private school in the LCS school district or if homeschooled live in the LCS school district.

REGISTRATION OPENS: October 9, 2023 at 5:30 pm.  40 seats are available - registration will close when full.

Calendars

CALENDAR COMMITTEE

Calendars are approved by the Board of Education as required under North Carolina General Statute 115C-84.2.

Each year, a Calendar Committee is formed, composed of school and district leaders, teachers, classified staff members and parents. This committee works to develop multiple calendar options for the upcoming school year. A survey is developed and distributed to staff and parents in all district schools with additional consideration given to neighboring districts' calendars. Based on the feedback and recommendation from the Calendar Committee, a proposed calendar is submitted to the School Board for approval.

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct is posted on each school's website under the Parents & Students tab. You can access each school's site from this website by clicking on the "Schools" option and using the drop down menu to select your child's school.

Curriculum

Curriculum K-12

All academic courses taught in the Lexington City Schools follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study as mandated by the NC General Assembly. Curriculum programs are aligned with the state’s annual testing program to ensure that students are taught academic material on which they will be evaluated. Clear Backpack Policy

Please review the press release about an important policy update that has recently been adopted by Lexington City Schools. The Clear Backpack Policy (Code: 5.33) is now in effect and will impact our daily operations and interactions with students.
