Lexington City Schools is a district that pursues excellence and values innovation. Located in the heart of North Carolina's Piedmont section, Lexington City Schools boasts a small town atmosphere surrounded by a countryside of lush rolling hills. We are within a 30-minute drive of Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem, and 45-minutes from Charlotte. 

We have a small town, community feel with great restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities, including hiking trails, fishing and kayaking on High Rock Lake or the nearby Yadkin River. Our location also allows quick access to neighboring cities where you can enjoy concerts, sporting events, festivals, and more.

LCS has 7 schools serving approximately 3,000 students in grades K-12. Our K-8 schools are Learning-Focused Schools, with each school offering a specific area of learning to include S.T.E.A.M., Leader in Me, Spanish Immersion, and a Global Academy. Our middle school has a state-of-the-art Innovation Lab where students and teachers work in the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence, coding, programming and communications. Our high school provides learning experiences and classes for students in high-tech fields such as cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, megatronics, and esports, as well as internship and apprenticeship opportunities. We are a 1:1 district with iPads for every K-12 student. We have reduced class sizes, and all classrooms are outfitted with modern technology, including 70” mobile panels, MacBooks, iPads and Apple TVs.
