Welcome to the South Lexington Media Center webpage.  My name is Marcie Treadway.  I happy to be at South Lexington and look forward to meeting your children in media classes.  I graduated from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  I am married and have four children.  I love to travel and especially love the beach.

Mission Statement Of South Lexington

The  mission of South Lexington Media Center is to encourage the love of reading for pleasure and information by connecting our students and staff with the resources, technology, and critical thinking skills they need to inspire learning.  We will enrich lives by maintaining  a nurturing, safe, fun, and inviting environment for all and strive to meet the needs of all ethnic, cultural, and educational differences for all patrons to excel in our global community.  

 

The Media Center at South Lexington is committed to challenging students to become critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, and creators as they work to be productive citizens in a global society who are equipped with the 21st century skills necessary to succeed. 

The Media Center at South Lexington's passion is to prepare students to be future ready: to not only become independent and ethical seekers and users of ideas of information, but creators of the ideas and information.

7:30 - 8:00 - Morning Duty

8:00 - 8:30 - Tardy Duty and Technology help

8:30 - 9:00 - Setting up for class and Technology Help

9:00 - 9:45 - Team 2 Kindergarten classes

9:45 - 10:25 - Team 3 Kindergarten Classes

10:30 - 11:15 - Team 1 Kindergarten classes

11:20 - 11:50 - lunch

11:55 - 3:00 - Checking in and out books, Various Technology issues with students and staff, lesson planning, Library/Tech, ordering Processing and weeding books, maintaining iPad carts and iPads, technology for new enrollments and erasing iPads when students leave, Loading student iPads with keynotes and Pages for media class
