CALENDAR COMMITTEE
Calendars are approved by the Board of Education as required under North Carolina General Statute 115C-84.2.
Each year, a Calendar Committee is formed, composed of school and district leaders, teachers, classified staff members and parents. This committee works to develop multiple calendar options for the upcoming school year. A survey is developed and distributed to staff and parents in all district schools with additional consideration given to neighboring districts' calendars. Based on the feedback and recommendation from the Calendar Committee, a proposed calendar is submitted to the School Board for approval.

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration
All kindergarten students living within Lexington's city limits attend South Lexington School. A child must be 5 years old on or before August 31st of the school year in which the child is enrolling to be eligible for kindergarten.
Please call the school at (336)242-1544 for more information. Registration forms are also available at all elementary schools and the district administrative office. Please refer to the school calendar for Kindergarten Orientation dates.
