I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve as Principal of South Lexington School and Developmental Center.  I look forward to working with the amazing staff and students.  Great things happen everyday at SLSDC.

I received my undergraduate degree from UNCG in Elementary Education.  In 2010 I received my masters degree from Western Carolina University in School Administration.  I returned to UNCG to earn my Specialist in Education degree followed by my doctorate in Educational Leadership.  I love to work with children and teachers as they grow and learn.

I began my career as a teacher in Guilford County in 2001.  I became an Assistant Principal in Alamance Burlington School System in 2015.  I am thrilled to be a member of the Jacket Family.

I am excited to be a part of the learning that our children will experience this year.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Assistant Principal at South Lexington School and Developmental Center. I look forward to another fantastic school year of learning with the administration team, the teachers, students, parents, and the community.

I received my undergraduate degree from High Point University in Mental Disabilities. I later returned to High Point University for a graduate degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education. I also have an add-on certification as an Exceptional Children Director and Leadership and a certification in Elementary Education (K-6). In addition, I received my school administration degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro through the Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) program.  Before joining the South Lexington family, I taught Special Education at Pickett Elementary School for thirteen years and Fort Dorchester Elementary School in Summerville, South Carolina, for five years.

I am ecstatic about the possibilities this school year will bring and proud to be a part of the Jacket Family as we challenge all students to "Be Somebody."

Welcome to Preschool! I am so excited for our youngest learners to enter the classrooms. This year will be filled with learning and growth, which is all wrapped up in the magic of preschool. In preschool, we have fun and learn through play and active exploration of the educational classroom. Each classroom is designed to foster the development of social, motor, and academic skills. South Lexington Preschool is a “5 star” rated daycare licensed facility by the state of North Carolina.  Our staff strives to maintain the highest standards set forth by the state.

As the school year starts, this will be my 30th year working for Lexington City Schools. I was a preschool teacher for 20 years before moving into the position of Preschool Coordinator. My experience is in providing special education services for preschool students.  My goal is for all students to have a positive preschool experience full of wonder and learning.  I enjoy working with families to meet the needs of children as they start their educational journey in school. Communication is the key to success! Please do not hesitate to contact me for assistance.
