Southwest Elementary Robotics Club Connects with Lexington Senior High’s Spark Lab

Lexington, NC — On March 26, 2025, students from the Southwest Elementary Global Academy (SWEGA) Robotics Club embarked on an exciting virtual journey to Lexington Senior High School’s NC Spark Lab. The interactive session offered the young innovators a firsthand look at the engaging, hands-on learning experiences available in the Spark Lab.

Throughout the visit, SWEGA students explored the many ways technology and creativity come together in the lab’s dynamic environment. They had the opportunity to ask Lexington Senior High students insightful questions about their projects, learning more about the practical applications of STEM education.

This collaborative exchange is just the beginning. SWEGA’s Robotics Club, led by Mrs. Franks, and the Spark Lab, led by Mr. Beamer, under the guidance of Mrs. Ralph, are now planning an in-person visit before the end of the school year. The upcoming experience will provide the elementary students with a deeper understanding of the innovative opportunities awaiting them in high school.

The partnership between Southwest Elementary and Lexington Senior High exemplifies the district’s commitment to fostering curiosity, collaboration, and a passion for STEM learning. Stay tuned for updates as these young robotics enthusiasts take their exploration to the next level!
