CALENDAR COMMITTEE

Calendars are approved by the Board of Education as required under North Carolina General Statute 115C-84.2.

Each year, a Calendar Committee is formed, composed of school and district leaders, teachers, classified staff members and parents. This committee works to develop multiple calendar options for the upcoming school year. A survey is developed and distributed to staff and parents in all district schools with additional consideration given to neighboring districts' calendars. Based on the feedback and recommendation from the Calendar Committee, a proposed calendar is submitted to the School Board for approval.

The Pickett PTO works closely with one another to provide educational offerings to the students, families, and staff of Pickett Elementary. The PTO is a communication tool between teachers and the community and we welcome you to participate. Research shows that children do better in school when their parents are involved.
