I'm Darica A. Waller, and I am absolutely ecstatic to join the Pickett Elementary Jacket Family. Let me share a bit about my journey: I served as the principal intern at Lexington Middle School last school year. Prior to that role, I spent two years as a high school counselor at Lexington Senior High School and four years as a school counselor at Charles England Elementary School. Before my counseling roles, I taught high school English in Winston-Salem for five rewarding years.

I am deeply passionate about building relationships and am eager to forge new connections with our students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members. My educational philosophy revolves around fostering partnerships in education to enhance student achievement and cultivating an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. I firmly believe in recognizing the strengths of each individual and embracing a holistic approach to education.
