Welcome to the LMS Media Center! I am Mrs. Shoaf and I have been the LMS media coordinator since 2014. I graduated from UNCG with a Bachelor of Science degree in education and from ECU with a Master of Library Science degree.

The Media Center @ LMS Mission Statement

The Media Center will function as the hub of the school in order to lead students in becoming lifelong readers and learners who appreciate and celebrate literature, themselves, and others.

The Media Center will support the curriculum by collaborating with teachers, developing a collection that meets the needs of all learners and is representative of the school community by implementing core instruction for students that integrates technology, research, information literacy, and digital citizenship.

The Media Center is committed to challenging students to become critical thinkers, communicators, collaborators, and creators as they work to be productive citizens in a global society who are equipped with the 21st century skills necessary to succeed.

It is our passion to prepare students to be future ready: to not only become independent and ethical seekers and users of ideas of information, but creators of the ideas and information.

Daily Schedule

The media center is available for open checkout everyday from 8:30-3:15. Students are encouraged to come to the media center during lunch or when they have completed assignments in class to exchange books.

Each ELA class has a designated time to come to the media center rotating every 2 weeks.
