Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts

Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts

On Monday, September 24th, Lexington City Schools' Teachers gathered at Charles England Elementary school to begin a day of professional development (teacher workday).  They also used this time to collect cleaning supplies and toiletries for residents in Scotland and Robeson Counties effected by the recent hurricane. The Teachers collected a tremendous amount of items, and on Tuesday, September 25th, NC State Representative (District 48) Garland Pierce arrived in a UHaul to collect the items to distribute to people who live in his District - Hoke, Richmond, Robeson, and Scotland Counties.

Rep. Pierce stated..."I want to thank the leadership of the school system...People in my community were amazed and grateful that a school system would consider helping and reaching out to their neighbors across the state in this time of disaster. We want the people of Lexington and the School System to know that if we can ever be of assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know!
