Attendance:
- Attendance will be submitted daily for each student by recording student contacts.
- A two-way communication (e.g., messaging through Class Dojo/Remind, video conferencing, phone call, email) is required between the student and a teacher or school official on their initial date of enrollment (i.e., first day of school) by 3:30 PM.
- If an email is used, the date of the student response is considered the date of initial enrollment. A completed assignment is not sufficient evidence for the student’s first day of school.
The following are acceptable forms of attendance:

- Submitting completed daily assignments, either online or offline, by the teacher’s due date/time , and/or
- Participating in a daily check-in or a two-way communication with the appropriate teacher (e.g., messaging through Class Dojo/Remind, video conferencing, phone call, email) by 3:30PM that day.
Canvas:
- Students in grades K-12 will receive virtual instruction in Canvas and are also able to use these instructions to access Canvas.
On the Canvas Dashboard, they will select their class.
- Students will log in to see teachers and classmates, participate in learning, submit assignments, take assessments and more.
LCS Laptops:
- Students who received a Chromebook/laptop from LCS will follow these instructions to login to their device.

Students will be expected to:
- Be online during scheduled times and engaged. If a student is unable to meet at the scheduled time, he/she must contact his/her teacher to make up the missed session.
- Be logged in and ready to learn prior to start of class.
- Be an active participant by sharing work and discussing ideas with the teacher and classmates.
- Complete their own work.
- Submit assignments as they are completed.
- Follow the guidelines for online safety and etiquette.
- Take care of provided devices and materials.
- Monitor assignments that the teacher has returned, reviewed, graded or commented on.
- Always be dressed for success.
IMPORTANT: All assignments must be completed during the week assigned and submitted by 10:00 P.M. Sunday of that week.

Tasks for Students:
- Daily: Read for 20 minutes/Reading Counts Tests.
For Grades 6-8 Only
Tasks for Students:
- Daily - Read 30 minutes.
- Daily - Work on teacher assigned IXL modules.
- Daily - Listen to sessions that teachers have recorded in Canvas.
- Daily - Be visible during class sessions (face visible, not avatar/picture).
- Daily - Log in to class session on time.
- Daily - Stay logged in online unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.
- Daily - Complete and submit all daily assignments as instructed by the teacher.
Fridays - Students will be expected to work independently on assignments that are assigned to them or they haven’t finished during the week.
Weekly Tasks for Students: Every Friday
- Students will be expected to work independently on new assignments or those they didn't finish during the week.
For Grades 9-12 Only
Daily Tasks for Students: Monday - Thursday
- Sign into and attend all synchronous classes.
- Log in to class session on time.
- Stay logged in online unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.
- Complete and submit all daily assignments as instructed by the teacher.
- Complete attendance quiz.
Daily Tasks for Students: Fridays
- Students will be expected to work independently on any unfinished assignments, complete an attendance quiz for each class and attend scheduled office hours.
Additional Student Expectations
- Dependable internet access (district will provide if needed).
- An electronic device (laptop or Chromebook. The district will provide one).
- Quiet, dedicated work/study space with minimum disruption.
- Organize their personal “school work” day to be their productive best.
- Seek help when needed (teachers, guidance, principals).
- Demonstrate learning by completing assignments.
- Engage with the classroom and use tools (like headphones) to focus on instructional videos, etc.
- Communicate with your teacher and examine feedback.
- Follow the Code of Conduct.
- Please complete your OWN work and do not plagiarize.
- Demonstrate online learning etiquette.
- Collaborate with peers using respectful language and behaviors.
- Wear attire acceptable for school (No vulgar language on shirts or inappropriate exposure).
- Use equipment as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Be patient with yourselves and your teachers- we are all learning together!

- Use Google Calendar to organize your time - Develop a schedule for each day.
