Internet and Device Access

laptop L Lexington City Schools is making every effort to provide equitable access to digital resources. Lessons for every grade level have been provided in paper form for all students. There are supplemental resources available online in the Digital Learning Toolbox, but these are not required. The online resources posted in the Toolbox are accessible from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. LCS will be offering one laptop per household to students in grades 3-12 to use for the duration of the school closure period. These devices are reserved for students who do not have access to a tablet or laptop at home. You will need internet access at home to use the laptop. All students in grades 3-12 have the opportunity to pick up a packet with their assignments which include printed resources for home study.  Only PARENTS/GUARDIANS may check out a laptop. Be prepared to sign a laptop loan agreement and show ID that matches student data in PowerSchool.

Teachers are aware of the challenges students and families are facing during this difficult time and will remain flexible when developing instructional plans, setting office hours, and creating deadlines for assignments.

LAPTOP CHECKOUT PROCESS

If a household has been unable to attend one of the laptop distribution events to pick up a loaned laptop, the parent/guardian may call the school of the oldest LCS student in the family to request a laptop. The school office will collect the necessary information and the laptop will be delivered to that school by 10am the following business/school day. Only 1 device per household please, and a parent/guardian must show a picture ID to pick up the laptop.
